Kraft Fresh Take - Cheese Breadcrumb Mix

When I was at the Kraft BlogEats conference last October we got to try out a brand new product that was completely under embargo for us to talk about. It was still so “secret” that we couldn’t even mention it was going to be in the stores this year. But now we can and I’m excited to share it with you.

You might have already seen it in your dairy section along with the shredded cheeses and such – it’s called Fresh Take and what it does is make a home cooked meal easier!

The Amber Treasure

Every good story is about a sword…or maybe every sword had a good story? Either way, The Amber Treasure is a story about a sword, well sort of…it’s actually a story about a boy who becomes a man and a sword, well actually a number of them play a large role in it.

The Amber Treasure is the first book in the Northern Crown Series by Richard Denning. This historical fiction novel takes place in England in the beginning of the Middle Ages.

The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast - Give Away

Have you ever heard of The Daniel Fast?  It is traditionally a three week 'fast' that is put together from the Biblical knowledge we have of Daniel's fasting experience.  During the 21 days you eat healthy foods such as vegetables, fruits, beans, legumes, nuts, whole grains, seeds and oils.  The Daniel Fast avoids foods such as meat, sugar, dairy, sweeteners (real and artificial), refined foods, processed foods, yeast, solid fats and deep-fried food.  Although it is not liquid in nature it is still considered a fast, and is easier for people to adhere to since you are eating solid foods.

Sewing for Valentine's Day

I loved home economics in school, it was where I learned to sew and I did a lot of sewing for a long time.  When my husband and I got married, my mother-in-law gave me money to purchase a sewing machine.

For many years, sewing brought out my creativity and I made some really fun things.

Dead Poets Society on Blu-ray DVD – Give Away

It seems to me that movies come to DVD sooner and sooner these days. Back in the day I remember when it took a whole lot longer for theater releases to be on VHS.  So when I was in high school (way back in the late 1980s and early 1990s) it was a happy day for me and my friends when Dead Poets Society came out on VHS.  We watched that movie over and over and over again.

More than 20 years later, I introduced Dead Poets Society to my daughter who is almost the same age I was when I first saw it.  Surprisingly enough I also introduced it to my husband who had never seen it before.

Ticket to Ride

When we went on our cruise to Alaska last August we spent a few days visiting with relatives in Vancouver.  We stayed with my aunt and uncle and my cousins brought over a game to play called “Ticket to Ride”.

This was our first experience with the game and it really only took one game for us to grasp the concept of it, so it’s a fairly easy game to learn.

The Chocolate Fix That's Just 50 Calories

I am one of the first in my social circles to try new things, even when I don’t get them for my blog.  Because we live in a smaller city though, what’s new to me is often old news across most of the country.  I’ll see features on TV morning shows and be all “oh I have to try that!”, only to find out the rest of the country has been ‘trying that' for months.

A is for Apple -T is for Toilet - P is for Plumbing Problems

I could write a short long book on what that cute kid in the picture has done to make his parents age.

This is my nephew.  My brother is eight years older than I am, and started his family young, so I was an auntie at the age of 12.  Between my parents, two other siblings and myself we spent a. lot. of time with my nephews and niece.  There was one particular summer that my brother, his wife and my parents always seemed to be working at the same time – so my sister and I were left with the kiddos.  If I recall correctly, this was the summer before my nephew started kindergarten.
